There was some good news for surf anglers this week as the Galveston County commissioners reopened the beaches on Bolivar Peninsula. This comes at a time when surf fishing is about to take off and also provides a place to go fishing.
Breezy conditions continued Monday and are forecast to be with us for several more days. Hey, this is April, and that is the norm for this month.
Higher than normal tide levels were being driven by a strong east/southeast wind on Saturday, and with the curb on activities around Galveston, little or nothing was taking place on the fishing scene.
April is starting off with some nice catches in spite of the periodic moderate to strong winds. Windows of nice conditions are cropping up although not lasting long.
Wednesday was another one of those windows of opportunity for April fishing. A light southwest wind prevailed and, although that is not a favorable direction for fishing, conditions were good.
Tuesday saw some good conditions for fishing early. A moderate south wind was not enough to hinder fishing. However, not many anglers took advantage of it.
If you were not able to go fishing Monday, you did not miss much. A moderate to occasionally strong east wind, along with foggy, misty conditions, kept most anglers at 1分11选5. The forecast for the middle of this week shows improvement with light winds and seas.
One thing for sure this month, during those windows of light winds, the fishing should be outstanding. The trick is trying to predict when those windows will occur.
One of the objectives of the Reel Report during this crisis is to keep anglers informed of what is taking place on the fishing scene around Galveston and to hopefully provide an outlet from the worries and hardships everyone is facing.
The doldrums continue on the fishing scene around Galveston, as fewer anglers are hitting the water. The irony is that it comes at a time when some of the best fishing so far in 1分11选5 is taking place.
